THE REBTEX STORY
Rebtex (Pty) Ltd. is a natural fibre business based in Polokwane, South Africa. The company started weaving sisal in the 1970s with national and international representation. Rebtex has been developing products that offer genuine environmental solutions to domestic and commercial markets. On-going innovations in eco-flooring remains part of the company's mission statement.

Our social responsibility extends to:
  • Our community, where we are involved in Peakanyo Primary School and Dikolobeng Children's Creche Motong.
  • Re-establishing the sisal fibre agricultural industry by setting up sustainable communities and creating many jobs.
  • Using our registered SETA training centre to upgrade skills among staff and learners.
At Rebtex, we aim to inspire and supply our customers with alternative natural products that will improve the environment and simultaneously provide healthier working conditions whilst creating employment for many poor communities. Our imported ranges include Sea Grass, Jute, Hemp, Coir, Abaca and Woven Vinyls.
ABOUT OUR PRODUCTS
The durability and aesthetic appeal of Natural Carpets has been successfully proven in both wall to wall and loose lay rugs however the latest addition of floor tiles has greatly expanded the market opportunities.

Products manufactured at Rebtex are of global quality standards and exported mainly to the UK, Europe, Australia, and Mauritius. Our sisal carpets are compliant in all categories of the USA Rug Institute Green Star Plus accreditation program.

SISAL
Sisal carpets are a good choice for those looking for a sustainable flooring option where durability, beauty and performance are considered important. Sisal is often a successful solution for those prone to allergies and asthmatic symptoms. It is pleasant to walk on and provides a natural massage for the soles of the feet. Sisal is 100% sustainable and 100% biodegradable.

JUTE
A popular choice for those preferring a softer and chunkier flooring look. Not recommended for high-traffic areas.

SEA GRASS
Beautifully woven with grasses washed by the sea. Available in loose rugs and wall-to-wall. Not recommended for high-traffic or commercial applications.

COIR
Hand-spun fibre from the husk of the coconut. Hard-wearing and suitable for high-traffic areas. Available in rugs and wall-to-wall.

ABACA
Possibly the strongest and most durable natural fibre from the stem of the Abaca plant. Whilst the range is extensive, due to the limited fibre availability, prices are at the high end. Abaca is mainly supplied in rugs, however, in a limited range it is also available in wall-to-wall.

WOVEN VINYL FLOOR COVERINGS
A recent addition to our range is a unique woven vinyl floor covering on a cushion backing, ideally suited to outdoor and indoor applications. All products are available as wall-to-wall as well as loose rugs with/without borders.
